Class Recap: An Evening With Aaron Gottesman Of Oyster House

Thursday night we had a dinner fit for any true seafood lover from the crew at Oyster House. To start, Chef Aaron Gottesman wooed our guests with a sampling of east coast and west coast oysters while third generation owner Sam Mink provided background on all things oysters. From the difference between east and west coast varieties, the nutritional benefits they provide, and their growth cycle, Sam’s knowledge of oysters is extensive and impressive. Read on to learn more and see what else Aaron cooked up for this seafood feast!

Class Recap: Día de los Muertos with Dionicio Jimenez and Matt Polzin of El Rey

How do scorpion tacos sound? Would you be willing to try tongue or brain? Well, this past Saturday sixteen adventurous COOK guests did exactly that by enjoying a sneak preview of El Rey‘s Día de Muertos dishes. From Monday, October 29th to Sunday, November 4th, Chef Dionicio Jimenez will be serving cuisine traditionally served during the holiday celebration of the dead in Mexican households. With a bit of liquid encouragement from Beverage Director Matt Polzin, many guests cleaned their plates while learning about Día de los Muertos. Read on to see how Dionicio’s curiosity-invoking menu played out and get Matt Polzin’s Corpse Reviver #4 recipe, perfect for upcoming holiday festivities!

A Look Back at the 2018 Audi FEASTIVAL

We came, we saw, we FEASTIVAL-ed. On September 27th, more than 60 of Philadelphia’s top bars and restaurants gathered for the party of the year – Audi FEASTIVAL. On behalf of COOK owner Audrey Claire Taichman, we thank each and every one of this year’s sponsors, bars, restaurants, volunteers and attendees for their generous support for FringeArts. COOK has been involved in FEASTIVAL since year one, and we know just how much support is required to make such a special evening possible. You did it again!

Class Recap: A Night in Sumatra with Diana & Maylia Widjojo of Hardena

Diana and Maylia Widjojo of Hardena put on an authentic Indonesian feast at COOK last night, that’s how!
