Last night, I went for an *early* dinner at 11pm at Stephen Starr’s El Rey. I go there a lot and I am always impressed with the food and general attitude of everyone inside.

But last night, I was feeling a tad difficult 😉 and all I wanted was a breakfast burrito. A breakfast burrito at 11pm, you say? Well, that’s what I was craving. And what I got hit the spot like never before.

Sous-chef Bryan Friedman is not only exceptionally kind to have made me my off-the-menu request but he did it with such skill and flavor, I was blown away. He made me one of the best meals I’ve had anywhere EVER and I am so grateful and wanted to tell everyone!

Next month, Brian will be headed over to the new a.kitchen but he is certainly one to watch in the Philly food scene. And he will also be teaching at COOK.

So kudos and thanks, Bryan! You made my belly and me so happy last night!
