The Rouge Burger and Then Some

September ended on a very high note at COOK thanks to the boys from Rouge. Executive Chef, Michael Yeamans, was joined by owner Rob Wasserman for a night of delicious burgers, tuna tartare, gnocchi with white truffle, molten chocolate cake and two broken wine glasses (thanks, Rob!).

Michael, in his signature Phillies hat, did all the cooking while Rob had the important job of burger bun-toasting and chatting with guests. Rob, who along with his wife Maggie, own Rouge and 500°, are also responsible for one of the city’s newest food events for a good cause: the Philly Burger Brawl.

Michael is a man of few words but many talents. From the way he delicately handled and prepared the tuna tartare to the shaving of the truffle (pricetag: $500!) – the group had a great time watching and learning and trying to crack the famous Rouge Burger code. But Rob and Michael just wouldn’t spill the beans on what makes their burger so dang good!
