Executive Chef, Alma de Cuba

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Yun Fuentes started in the restaurant world as a dishwasher, moving through the ranks on his home island all the way up to chef de cuisine. Relocating to New York City to continue his culinary education, Fuentes cooked and apprenticed under chefs like Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Daniel Boulud and Gray Kunz before working for Jose Garces in Philadelphia. The former chef de cuisine of JG Domestic and executive chef of Society Hill Society, Fuentes brings a passionate and authentic touch to his position as executive chef of Alma de Cuba, where he collaborates with chef Douglas Rodriguez to push Nuevo Latino cuisine into exciting new territory.
