Chef Erin O’Shea arrived in Philadelphia in 2006, joining restaurateurs Steve Cook and Chef Michael Solomonov. In 2009, O’Shea became Chef/Partner of their Percy Street Barbecue. The Philadelphia Inquirer gushed that O’Shea’s innovative take on Southern cuisine “kept the accent and pantry, but upended the predictable feel, technique and presentation,” adding that her signature shrimp and grits are “not like any grits you’ve tasted before.” Before coming to Philadelphia, Chef O’Shea trained in Richmond, VA with legendary Southern chef and restaurateur Jimmy Sneed at The Frog & the Redneck, named one of the country’s best restaurants by Esquire. Chef Erin O’Shea is one of the country’s best – and only – female barbecue pit mistresses, and has been featured in Bon Appetit magazine.
