Chef/Personal Trainer, Health and Wellness Coach Frances Vavloukis is first generation Greek. Both Frances and her twin sister Katherine’s parents were born in Greece. Mother from the Islands of Mykonos and Father from a Velvendos, Kozanis. She lives “My Big Fat Greek Wedding!”
At the age of 9, Frances and Katherine’s mother died suddenly so they were forced to learn to cook from their father at a very early age. Frances attended Longwood University in Virginia, where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Management, 1983. From 1986 to 1991 she worked in Catering and was the Store Manager for the renowned “ Market of the Commissary” creator Steven Poses – Philadelphia PA.
From 1991 to 1994 Frances worked for Ridgewells Caterering in Bethesda MD as a pastry chef, event planner and coordinator while attending the well known “L’Academie de Cuisine” in Bethesda, MD. Her passion for food did not stop there, in 2002 Frances opened Organically Scrumptious – Bakery and Cooking School located on the Main Line. From 2006 to 2012 Frances moved to Annapolis MD when she was offered the position of Culinary Director to open the first Culinary Center for Whole Foods Market in the Mid- Atlantic region.
In April, 2012, Frances moved back to Philadelphia and found love again. She lives in Merion Station with her husband, Ken and their 6 kids. Just like the Brady Bunch! Other interests are health and fitness and she currently owns and runs a specialized fitness program known as “BodyX” located on the Main Line.
