Chef/Co-Owner, Foolish Waffles
Robin Admana is the chef and co-owner of the Foolish Waffles food truck. She started her career as a barista during college and later became the resident baker for the café, which gave her the opportunity to test out recipes and solidify her love of baking and pastry work. After college and years of work in the legal industry, Robin went to culinary school at the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. During her corporate years, she traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia where her obsession with street food began. She later worked as a private chef and caterer focusing on authentic international cuisine, which she learned from classes taken during her travels.
Robin spent time honing her skills on the Lucky Old Souls burger truck as well as working as a line cook at Kraftwork Bar. In 2014, she opened the Foolish Waffles food truck with her close friend and now business partner. The truck has won a number of accolades including Best of Philly for Street Food Snacks in 2014 (banh mi waffle), The Vendy Cup as well as the Vendy’s People’s Choice Award in 2015. The truck was chosen as one of The Daily Meal’s 101 Best Food Trucks in America in 2015 & 2016 and was recently featured on Food Network’s Top 5 Restaurants’ Food Truck Episode rating them #2 in the country. You can find Robin on the Foolish Waffles truck throughout the city and serving brunch weekly at Farm to City’s Chestnut Hill Market where she’s slinging made to order sweet and savory waffles as well as house-made pastries and baked goods.
