Happy National Puppy Day!

puppies

Here at COOK, we’re dog people. (Sorry, we like you too, cats!) With COOK’s windows overlooking a busy corner a block off of Rittenhouse Square, we have the perfect vantage point for people watching. Even better: puppy watching! We are familiar with our four-legged neighbors, and whenever a new puppy moves in, it’s quite the topic of conversation at 253 South 20th. Today is their day: National Puppy Day! To commemorate it, we’re honoring the puppies (even if they’re only young at heart) in our chefs’ and restaurateurs’ lives. No recipes, no class announcements, just ridiculously cute dog pics. Bone appétit!

Meet Your Meat with Eric Schlicht of Urban Farmer

IMG_4406

Eric and his fellow Urban Farmer chefs Sunny and Mike grilled two styles of ribeyes, one non-aged and one aged 280 days! Urban Farmer partners with many local farms and vendors to supply their restaurant with high quality meat, dairy, produce and more. Since Urban Farmer is a modern steakhouse, I wanted to highlight how Chef Eric and Urban Farmer works with local family farms to source their beef.

We are so thankful that Damon was able to put on such a great dinner being just days into his new position as Executive Chef at Le Virtù. Check out the Foobooz article for more details. If you love cheese, then read on to see how Damon transformed these already wonderful cheeses into delicious, fully-composed dishes!
