Introducing Baba’s Acid Trip

Are you a kombucha convert? There’s something new in store for you! From the local Baba’s Brew kombuchery comes Acid Trip, a line of living vinegars. Baba’s allows the kombucha SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast) to convert residual sugars into a vibrant vinegar that is rich in probiotics and antioxidants. With a lower overall acidity than other vinegar varieties, kombucha vinegar is a bright, flavorful ingredient that will bring a zing to any dish or drink that you can dream up. We’ve added two Acid Trip flavors to our cocktail shrub section – Raspberry Lime and Grapefruit! Check out two cocktail recipes below, courtesy of Baba’s Brew founder Olga Sorzano.

NEW FASHION

1 teaspoon sugar
3 dashes Angostura bitters
1 oz Raspberry Lime Acid Trip
2 oz bourbon

Combine sugar, bitters, vinegar and bourbon in the shaker. Add ice cubes and shake for 30 seconds. Strain into your favorite glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with an orange slice/peel and Luxardo cherry.

VODKA GREYHOUND

1 ½ oz vodka
2 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
1 oz Grapefruit Acid Trip
3 oz sparkling water

In a shaker filled with ice, add vodka, grapefruit juice and vinegar. Strain into the glass filled with fresh ice. Top it with sparkling water. Garnish with grapefruit wedge and rosemary.
