Since 1888, Bordiga Vermouth has been using the original recipes (and the original recipe books!) developed by Pietro Bordiga in Torino. In addition to their use of Piedmontese wine, Bordiga is known for their signature house blend of botanicals, many handpicked in the nearby Alps, along with some from outside Italy, introduced via the spice trade. Hence, the camel gracing the Bordiga label! Read more about Bordiga’s Bianco, Extra Dry and Rosso vermouths below and then stop by to stock up for the weekend. We’re open daily from 11AM to 8PM, and if you prefer, you can reserve online for easy pick up.
VERMOUTH DI TORINO BIANCO
Made from a base blend of Moscato and Cortese, Bordiga Bianco is infused with Alpine botanicals, resulting in a complex vermouth that’s an excellent balance of sweetness and bitterness. Try it with a splash of soda water as an aperitivo!
VERMOUTH DI TORINO EXTRA DRY
Moscato, Trebbiano and Cortese, infused with twenty-five botanicals, including wormwood, elderflower, cinchona bark, quassia, orange peel, wild thyme, pepper and pomegranate. This is the vermouth for the classic Martini, but it’s also excellent in savory dishes like risotto and sautéed vegetables.
VERMOUTH DI TORINO ROSSO
Caramel is often what lends sweet vermouth its signature color. Not the case here! For their Rosso Vermouth, Bordiga takes the white wine blend used for their Extra Dry Vermouth and adds Nebbiolo. The botanical blend is similar to the blend used for the Extra Dry but with the addition of cardamom, yarrow and saffron. By comparison, this is lighter in body than most other sweet vermouths, so it works beautifully as a sipper or as a cocktail vermouth for when you don’t want to overpower a lighter spirit.
