From Miami to China, there has been an increasing trend of attacks on humans by the undead.  With the zombies having an insatiable hunger for human flesh and brains, heed our warning, the zombie apocalypse is upon us!

On the eve of our great nation’s birth, we have been alerted that a large concentration of zombies were seen gathering in Philadelphia.  The reports on the field stated that the living dead were seen wandering around town, but  they were not here to visit the historical sites and celebrate Independence Day with Fireworks at the Art Museum.  Our zombie expert explains “though attracted by loud noises and bright lights, zombies stay clear of fireworks due to the explosive/flammable nature”.

The authorities were keeping close watch on the movement patterns of the zombie herd.  Eye witnesses say the zombies were attracted to the sounds of Luau music and the smell of smoked meats billowing from an Israeli Restaurant in the Society Hill area.  The Israeli restaurant known as Zahav was throwing a summer luau party but with the invasion of zombies the location has been quarantined and recommended that all humans stay away.

COOK dispatched a reporter and photographer to the scene for investigation.

This is the last communication COOK has received from our crew on the scene:

-5:50pm there is a great gathering of zombies in front of Zahav, they are about to overtake the front door

-6pm I’m sad to report that Chef Michael Solomonov has just been bit, he looks to be “chef zero” infecting the rest of the chefs invited to cook at the summer luau.

-6:15pm Oh the horror! Chef Solomonov has infected the following chefs: Jen Carroll, Terence Feury, David Katz, Erin O’Shea, Pierre Calmels, Monica Glass, John Taus and Peter Woolsey who has an amazing blonde mullet.

-6:30pm The now zombified chefs are still working the line preparing what looks to be an amazing menu for the zombies that hunger.

-7pm Right now the zombies are unaware that we are the only few remaining survivors at the restaurant.

– 7:30pm They seem to be preoccupied with the menu that the zombie chefs are preparing for what now has turned into a Zahav Zombie Luau.

– 7:40pm I’ve moved closer to the kitchen it looks like the following items are on the menu: Poke with Sea Beans, what looks to be legs of tiny chickens glazed in soy, smoked salmon around cantaloupe ice, Spam and Mahi Mahi on a bao bun, blood sausage over sweet potato puree, a fried soft shell crab sandwich with kimchi, and finally smoked pig.

– 8pm Thankfully for the remaining survivors, it appears that the zombies are feasting on the faces of pigs and not of humans!

– Since arriving to the scene the now Undead Brian Kane, one of the managers at Zahav looks to have prepared drinks for the zombies. Whats worse than a zombie, a drunk zombie! From what I can see the drinks available are: Bath Saltz, Revenge in the Rain, Requiem for Maverick’s Divorce, a Corpse Reviver and a Frozen Zombie Slayer.

– 10pm God have mercy, they look to be gathering in the center of the restaurant. It looks like they are swaying back and forth in some sort of rhythmic motion, which can only described as the dancing. It looks to be straight out of Thriller!
