As an industry worker zipping around on your feet all day, the best part of the day is enjoying a shift drink: a post-work alcoholic beverage to decompress, take a load off, and yes, enjoy a nice buzz before heading home to bed. In this series, we’ll be exploring the many fantastic bar programs of Philadelphia where you can treat yourself after a hard day’s work. Get ready for a taste of something fine because this time it’s all about the wine.
In the heart of Old City, housed in The Penn’s View Hotel is one of the premier wine bars in Philadelphia. Panorama, an authentic Italian restaurant, is turning out classic dishes from the motherland while giving guests hundreds of wine options. With 120 wines on tap and over 150 wines by the glass, Panorama is paradise for any vino aficionado.
Panorama boasts the largest wine preservation and dispensing system in the world – confirmed by The Guinness Book of World Records! Nowhere else in Philadelphia, or much of the country for that matter, can you find such a vast collection of wines. Since I wanted to try a few, I went with their signature “Panoramic Flight,” which allows you to sample five different wines within a select group. Check out their extensive wine flight menu and choose a flight of your own!
After a long day at work sometimes you just want to unwine-d (see what we did there?) with a simple glass of wine. Maybe a classic Italian red blend, or if you’re feeling summery, browse their extensive rosé list. Check out the full wine menu and see just how many there are for yourself! Feeling extra fancy? Take a look at these reserve wines that Panorama offers.
Panorama offers a great happy hour Sunday to Friday from 5 – 7 pm with $5 off every wine tasting “flight,” $5 select wines, $4 select beers, $4 off select signature cocktails and select menu appetizers at 1/2 price.
Speaking of food, Chef Matthew Gentile was just at COOK in July, and he put on quite the seafood feast. But don’t take my word for it – order something yourself while you sip a glass of one Panorama’s many wines. Tell them COOK sent you!
