Amaro. Vino Amaro.

Love wine? Into amaro? Try vino amaro! Wine based amari offer harmonious herbal flavors and a more vinous texture in comparison to liquor-based amari, which are often intense, concentrated and syrupy. Check out our selection of vino amari below, plus some cocktail recipes! Shop in-store daily from 11AM to 8PM or reserve online for easy pick up.

Cocchi “Dopo Teatro” Vermouth Amaro
Inspired by the tradition of sipping a vino amaro “after theater,” the Dopo Teatro uses Cocchi’s classic Vermouth di Torino as its base. Additional botanicals include chiretta flavors and cinchona bark. Enjoy on the rocks with a lemon peel! If you’re having a chocolate dessert, this one’s for you. Reach for this next time you’re making a Manhattan, swapping out your traditional sweet vermouth.

Lo-Fi Gentian Amaro
Bright, floral, and refreshing, this amaro starts with a bouquet of citrus, hibiscus and ginger. Flavors include gentian root, ginger, anise, quinine, orange oil bitters, hibiscus, and grapefruit. If you’re an Aperol Spritz fan, try a Lo-Fi Spritz by combining equal parts Gentian Amaro and sparkling wine over ice, topping with club soda. Garnish with a grapefruit slice – cheers!

Pasubio Vino Amaro
Pasubio is a true taste of the Dolomite Mountains in the Trentino region of Italy. On a base of rich aged wine you’ll find notes of blueberry, pine, and smoke, together with bitter alpine herbs. It is rare among amari to feature mountain berries. Serve neat after dinner on ice for any occasion, or mix in cocktails with bourbon, rye, or brandy.

Cardamaro Vino Amaro
This is the one and only amaro wine with Nizza Monferrato cardoon, celebrated for its digestive, purifying, and appetite-stimulating properties. Spicy notes of hunchback cardoon, gentian, clary sage, and licorice are prominent, while hints of dried fruit, grapes, and ginger also emerge. An extraordinary balance of sweet notes, bitter herbs and pleasant wine texture.

Combine Pasubio and Cardamaro in the following cocktail!

Lower Heights
Over ice, combine 2 oz Cardamaro, 1 oz Pasubio and 2 dashes Angostura bitters. Stir and strain into a coupe.
Garnish with an orange peel.
