Chris D’Ambro, owner of Southwark in Queen Village, stopped in to give us a preview of his soon-to-open restaurant, Ambra. This Italian wine bar is set to open this summer at 4th and Bainbridge, and based on what we’ve tasted, this is a spot you’re going to want to indulge in. Check out what Chris cooked up for us.
We kicked off our five course meal with branzino crudo with a tomato vinaigrette and basil.
The second course was so beautiful we almost didn’t want to eat it! This burrata was made fresh by Chris and was served with beets, pistachios, and herbs.
What would an Italian dinner be without some tagliatelle? This smoked tagliatelle “cacio e pepe” was loaded with flavor. We had to refrain from licking the sauce from the plate! For the main event, Chris demonstrated his squab “marsala” with chanterelle mushrooms.
And finally, although we were all pretty full, we couldn’t resist this gorgeous panna cotta with strawberries.
