Machine Shop Boulangerie Pop-Up This Sunday at COOK!

Hump day is here, and if you’re pondering weekend plans, we’ve got a sweet Sunday option for you! End your weekend fun with a relaxing Sunday stroll and come into COOK to restock your kitchen with some goodies. This SundayJune 10th from 10 AM – 2 PM (or until sold out), Machine Shop Boulangerie will be at COOK selling their French-inspired, artisan bakery treats. These are the real deal – hand-crafted pastry perfections, as delicious as they are beautiful – so swing in early before they sell out. Special guest and regular COOK instructor Nick Macri of Reading Terminal Market’s La Divisa Meats will also be selling an assortment of products from his beloved butcher counter. Sticking to their Philadelphian roots, Machine Shop founders and head bakers Katie Lynch and Emily Ridell proudly use wild yeast from Philadelphia as well as local, milled-in-house grains.  Using traditional French techniques, Katie and Emily churn out bread, pastries and more for restaurants and cafés throughout the city.  You can find Machine Shop’s goods at the following establishments in the city: Elixr Coffee RoastersReAnimator Coffee RoastersRival Bros. Coffee RoastersMenagerieRallyRes IpsaAlchemy and United By Blue.  While their BOK Building based bakery (say that 5 times!) in South Philly is wholesale only, you can purchase their goods direct from the source at their COOK pop-up this Sunday! Machine Shop will be selling the following items:

  • Croissants
  • Morning buns
  • Kougin-amanns
  • Cookies
  • Breads (Loaves and Baguettes)

And what pairs better with pastries and bread than… coffee! Friends of Machine Shop Boulangerie, Blind Tiger Coffee will be serving up tastings of their java. But wait, there’s more! Nick Macri (aka @MeatManMacri), butcher and proprietor of La Divisa Meatswill be on hand selling a selection of his housemade specialties: house pâté, pork liver pâté, country lamb pâté and cotto salami. Buy a baguette and some pâté, and you’re on your way to a great (local) lunch!
