That’s why COOK is here to give you a few pumpkin flavored options that will perhaps make you cross over to the pumpkin spice side! Pumpkin Smoothie

Throughout the month of October Sip-N-Glo is running The Great Pumpkin as their smoothie special. Containing pumpkin puree, almond milk, banana, housemade pumpkin spice and vanilla bean, this drink is packed with health benefits. Did you know that pumpkin is a great source of potassium and beta-carotene, which boosts your vitamin A levels? Now, while it’s not too chilly yet, is the perfect time for this pumpkin smoothie!
Pumpkin Pecan Maple Donut
Okay, so we all want to eat healthier, but who can say no to hot and fresh donuts on a brisk autumn day? Head to any Federal Donuts location around the city and grab yourself a “fancy donut” from their display case. New to their fancy menu is the pumpkin pecan maple donut, a sweet tooth’s October dream! Head in to your local Federal Donuts early if you want one of these before they sell out for the day! In addition to their new donut, Federal Donuts also has a new shop on the corner of 6th and South Streets.
Pumpkin Potstickers
Here’s a truly creative pumpkin dish that you won’t find all over the place – pumpkin potstickers! Baology, the Taiwanese street food joint on JFK Boulevard, is dishing out pumpkin spiced potstickers finished with brown butter and sage, drizzled with Villa Manodori Balsamic Vinegar. The stuffing in these beauties is made from fresh South Jersey cinderella pumpkins, a true fall harvest gem!
Pumpkin Whoopie Pies
Speaking of utilizing fresh produce, Weckerly’s Ice Cream in Fishtown specializes in seasonal flavors made with ingredients from local farms. This season they are doing something different than standard pumpkin ice cream – whoopie pies! They make the cakes (either pumpkin or chocolate) in house and pair them with your choice of ice cream. Hurry in for this super seasonal treat before the pumpkin patches are picked bare!
…But if you really can’t let the fall season pass without your pumpkin spiced latte, go to a local coffee roaster that’s doing this infamous beverage correctly. Herman’s Coffee is making pumpkin pie lattes from fresh, local pumpkins from Riverwards Produce. The pumpkin is infused in the syrup and then complimented with an assortment of fall spices.
