France celebrated Bastille Day this Thursday, July 14th, and earlier this week here at COOK, we decided to join the festivities with Kenneth Bush of Bistrot La Minette. Check out the French picnic he prepared for us!
Our first course, Potage Saint Germain, was a pea soup with crisped French ham, creme fraiche and mint.
For our second course, Assiette de Legumes, Kenny prepared a variety of three salads; citrus and beets, ham and potato, and carrots with walnuts. This plate was just as delicious as it was colorful.
A French picnic wouldn’t be complete without charcuterie! Cochonnailles, our third plate was an assortment of sausage, foie gras mousse, pate, toast, dijon aioli and cornichons.
For our entree, we were served Poulet RĂ´ti, otherwise known as roast chicken and it was was served with haricot verts and mac and cheese. It was so delicious that we wanted to lick the plate!
To complete our meal, we ended the evening with a decadent terrine de mousse au chocolat. Just look at that wonderful presentation!

Happy COOKing, everyone!
