CALEÑO DRINKS

Caleño was born out of personal frustration via founder Ellie Webb, who felt that the zero proof market was missing something. During a trip to Colombia, she felt uninspired by the non-alcoholic drinks on offer and decided it was time to bring some joy to not drinking. She returned to her home in Bristol (UK, not PA!) and cooked up Caleño, a line of tropical-inspired beverages that are alcohol-free, gluten-free, vegan and low-calorie with no added sugar.

Caleño Light & Zesty is a gin-like spirit that’s a lively blend of pineapple, inca berry (aka ground cherry), papaya, coriander, juniper, green cardamom and lemon peel. Enjoy it simply with tonic over ice.

Caleño Dark & Spicy is a tropical rum-ish blend of pineapple, coconut, ginger, black cardamom, vanilla, kola nut and lime. Combine it with ginger ale or ginger beer over ice. Visit Caleño’s website for additional cocktail recipes!

ALL THE BITTER

Fact: cocktail bitters are generally 35% – 45% alcohol. Although they’re used sparingly in drinks, those wanting a completely zero proof cocktail have had to avoid cocktail bitters. Until now. Husband and wife team Ian and Carly Blessing met while working at The French Laundry, and when they gave up alcohol, they were shocked that alcohol-free cocktail bitters were far and few between. Taking matters into their own hands, they developed All The Bitter, a trio of classic bitters, just without the booze: Aromatic, Orange and New Orleans. All three are made with organic ingredients and support digestion, liver health and detoxification. While they’re obviously perfect for zero proof cocktails, they do wonders for club soda and tonic!
